Summertime on the porch...

Well, at our house it's the carporch- carport in the colder months and a porch in the warmer ones. It's a great little shady outdoor space that I love to play with. Of course I realized this week that I rearrange it more than I sit out there. I am working on that. Please forgive the dark pictures but I think you will get the feel of it anyway.

And lastly...the new plant stand. Well, new to me. It's definitely on my to-do list for a coat of paint. It was $3 at a church yardsale a couple of weeks ago. The pieces the pots are sitting on swivel around the center post. It's a lot of fun.

Care to come over and make me sit down- or would you have more fun moving things around with me?

Oh.....porch sitting!!! It's such a wonderful southern tradition. There's not much porch sitting around here. I don't know why that is. I love all your porch stuff. I want to sit on your porch and eat some pie!

SSG is VERY good at sitting around--just ask Predo.

Dude, I had settled on green for my table UNTIL I SAW YOUR RED ONE! That's it, I'm going to have to get two tables ; )

You know I am a huge fan of the car porch...we would sit for a spell and then start moving stuff around...and decorating...and planting...and picking...and sippin' on some lemonade...of course while the guys go fishin'.

We sit on our front porch a bit almost every day. BUT, I still need to get more chairs out there and a table too. Love your little sit area.

Love the little red table set! You knew I would! Car port or porch. What difference does it make as long as it has a roof? I'd be out there rearranging myself. Can't stop here anyway!

I love it! And I love that you call it a carporch, so clever! It looks like the perfect place to read a book and drink lemonade on a nice Summer afternoon.

What a great idea! We'd love to share your pics and ideas on our web site (a web site dedicated to porches). We are always looking for ideas and ways people use their porch space! When I was growing up my father made screen doors that fit across the garage door opening and converted part of the garage into a screen porch area complete with lounge chairs, outdoor rug, etc. Let us know if you would allow us to show your ideas.

I love porches anyway and yours looks so inviting . Why don't you just take a cuppa of your favorite drink and a good book or sewing and set a spell on that shady nice rocker I see.

OH my gosh! Maybe I need a rug on my FRONT porch..I love it. I have been working on mine...and am never competely satisfied...perhaps a rug would help...but picking one out that is flat and safe is the question. I really love the touches of red!!
