Thankfully I'm waiting...

Everyone out there is making it really, really hard for me to wait until the day after Thanksgiving to get out my Christmas decorations. On Sunday I was really feeling the itch but I was rescued by a beautiful old platter that my aunt so kindly sent to me.

I decided to gather what few Fall things I have and do a little decorating on the (fake, I can't afford the gas for) fireplace mantel. I am hosting Thanksgiving next week and I thought it would be nice. I am going to fluff it a little more before next week and add more candles but here is what I have so far...

I steal that greenery from this giant bush-like tree in our backyard all year long. It seems the more I cut from it the more it grows. Bella fella wanted to chop it down last year when we moved in. Um, no. He lost that battle but won the battle of the Christmas lights. More on that later.

Speaking of waiting to put of up Christmas decorations...I can definitely wait for the unveiling of the outdoor lights. In fact, Mom asked about those last night and I told her I was in denial.

Okay, I can wait. For now, this Christmas light snob will enjoy her mantel and be thankful.

your thanksgiving spruce up looks beautiful. the platter is wonderful. so homey. i don't hold thanksgiving at my house - so it's easy to skip those decorations.

Love what you have out for Thanksgiving! I have been wanting to get things out and about but waiting till Thanksgiving night to do any Christmas stuff...although I have been listening to the music. Nothing wrong with that at least....Can't wait to see all your stuff next week.

I'm glad you're waiting. The fall decor is very pretty. I also wait even though I'm also itching to decorate for Christmas. I just don't want to feel like I've totally skipped over Thanksgiving and Autumn (what Autumn we've had, it was 95 degrees yesterday, 90 today)

Your autumn decorations look very pretty.

You mean my hubby isn't the only one who has issues about putting up outdoor Christmas lights???

Blessings,
Wanita

I love the mantel and the decor you created for it!!! You did a great job on it!

So, can we not talk about outdoor lights just yet? I too am in denial! Denial that I have to put them up again! Ah, the things we do for love (or guilt!)!

Can't wait to see the photo's of yours!!
