Goodwill is also a sore subject. Apparently a week economy means they can charge more than Target and Walmart. They lost their .85 price stickers months ago and I think they are running low on the $1.25.
I like to go to my other favorite store on the way home from work. Unfortunately the time change has ended that routine. It's not in the best area of town and I can't (won't) go there by myself after dark. I did manage to stop by last Thursday afternoon before I started my long weekend. Here are a few things I found...
This beautiful afghan for $4. It's huge and heavy and so wonderful to snuggle under.
And isn't this quilty thing fun? It was .50 and it's found a home in my guestroom.
And check out this cool bowl. If you know anything about it please let me know. I loved the Fall colors. It was $3. This pillow caught my eye and cost me another .50! It's wool and you can tell it was very expensive.
Green cup- .25. It is made in Japan and I have a set of mugs that matches it. It is now on my bathroom vanity.
I also picked up another beautiful sweater for my Fall Ann Taylor collection. It was $3. I wore that to work on Monday but spared you another self-portrait in the dirty full-length mirror. I've also been picking up some Christmas stuff but I am saving that to show you after Thanksgiving.
Thanks for indulging me in another show and tell. I love sharing my stuff with other treasure hunters like myself.
Have a great Wednesday!

that afghan is beautiful. reminds me of my grandma. she knitted them all the time. she was so talented. love the green cup too. i think the vintage craze is catching on so well that places are marking things up. just like the whole antique market.
Is it wrong that I am drooling over that bowl??
I picked up some vintage Fiestaware at an auction last Saturday. It was NOT a bargain, but I just HAD to have it:) Can't wait to go thrifting with you.....obviously, you know where to find the good stuff!
Gosh I know what you mean about Goodwill. I found out we had one and I did not see anything worth buying cause it was so high! Now the Salvation Army has loads of goodies I have bought so I will share before long to.
Love all the goodies you got!
hey there! What great finds. i really like the afghan and green jar.
Come on over. I've got something for you :0)
I love all of it! By the way, I tagged you so come and check it out!
I adore the dog pillow! No drought for you! Wonderful finds!~~~XXOO, Beth
CUUUTTTEEEE doggy pillow! Love that!
Love your finds... I went to both the Salvation Army and to Goodwill last week in search of goodies, but alas... it was all junk. I think lots of people are hitting those stores now due to the economy and it will become increasingly harder to find the 'good' treasures.
Love your bowl with the USA brand on the bottom.. it's old pottery. Here's a link to pottery brands... maybe you can find something about your piece there. http://glassandpotterysellers.org/pottery_links.html

I love ALL your finds!!! This is wonderful! I have noticed that thrift store prices have gone through the roof as well done here. It is crazy.
I miss you baby girl and you are in my thoughts constantly!!! I can not wait to be back full time!

Ok, all of you thrifters are inspiring me. Especially YOU miss wardrobe from Ann Taylor for $5. There is a Salvation Army "Boutique" store that I've spied in Portland, perhaps I can grab Predo and do a photo shoot for ya'll this weekend ...
YOU HAVE A GIFT! I would never have guessed! I think I may have to find my way to a thrift store! You make it look so simple!!!
PS= I don't know anything about the fall colored bowl, but it is a great conversation piece! I love the colors too!
Wonderful finds Kim! I haven't found much of anything lately. My daughter found a nice sweater from American Eagle at the SA for only $5 so that was nice!
Have a wonderful day! (Love your Germany photos!)

I wish I could help with your bowl - especially because it kind of reminds me of some candleholders I found at a thrift shop awhile back. It just looks like it is special and unusual- and if only we knew who made it! Don't even get me started about Goodwill! Honestly, who ARE these people that they have pricing things? They have higher prices than antique shops, and high prices on things that are chipped or damaged. I get SO irritated! Luckily, I have five other shops to visit in my town, and two more in nearby towns.
I couldn't help but comment...Goodwill has seriously gone UP in price. Um, didn't someone GIVE the item to y'all?? Crazy!! Oh, and the pot and pan post was hilarious.
Came here by way of Rambling Gal...
