Dear John...

I've decided to take you on a bit of a tour of the little farm house. Today the bathroom, our dear john. Please excuse my play on words. Let's blame it on stress.

When we put a contract on this house we heard a lot of grumblings about the fact that it only had one bathroom. Of course we'd prefer another one. Who wouldn't? But I love my little bathroom. It has hardwood floors just like the rest of the house. The color scheme is a sort of sage green with brown accents. Oh, and here you can see the original old doors that are throughout the entire house, along with the old knobs.

A little touch of Fall. Mom brought me these on Saturday. I believe they came from Dollar General.

Here is the new print that I bought at Goodwill last week for $3. I grabbed it because I liked the frame, but then I realized it was a good fit for this room.

Here is the old attic door. I always see these old openings and don't know how anyone ever fit. Thank goodness we now have a bigger door with a pull down ladder in the hallway. The metal adornment is another old Goodwill find- $1.25.

I wish I was in there right now taking a relaxing bubble bath! Well, that is something to look forward to today.

That is such a cute bathroom! I love the way you decorate and I wish I had a thrift store where I could find stuff like that. I never find really good finds but then again maybe I wasn't looking the way you do.

Yeah, yes, oui, si senor...send me any and all fabric scraps...I am addicted you know...like a crack fiend. LOL...bag for you for doing so!!! I may include some Lindt chocolate truffles for your trouble too!

Have a great day.

You have SUCH a great eye Kim! I love the little lamp on the back of the toilet seat too! And you just inspired me to look forward to a nice long soak this evening too. It's a rainy day in Portland today--just the kind of day for it!

I love your bathroom! Our home is very old and I still love things like glass doorknobs and wood floors, old tile and the little bits and pieces you find of the past like attic openings. My bath has a "fuse" box in it and a very old gas heater. I love it!

Glad you shared your John with us!
