The little farm has been pummeled by these little missiles all weekend long. At times it sounded like hail or firecrackers. They hit the roof of the house, the store, the old chicken coop and our poor cars. The weird thing is that I sort of like it. It reminds me of thunder, a good storm without the rain.
In between acorn bombings we spent the weekend relaxing and running errands. Saturday afternoon we saw Nights in Rodanthe. Bring tissues. We dined at Red Lobster. Cheese biscuits. Then we hit Target and Sam's Club. And you would think that shopping at Target could not get any better but they have these new plastic carts that are wonderful- a nice smooth ride around my favorite isles. I don't have to tell you that Sunday=football. And from our wonderful seats on the couch we beat the Packers! And this oak tree beat the heck out of the house...
This week I have a lot of thrifty treasures to show you. I will be taking pictures tonight. I found some great stuff at Goodwill and my favorite thrift store and mom dropped off some goodies for me on Saturday morning.
And I can't wrap this up without sending a huge CONGRATS to my little brother- star of Friday's post. Saturday night he won the karaoke competition at the Virginia State Fair! Go little bro! You so deserve it!
