Where there is smoke

There just might be BBQ.

We were on our way to Pittsburgh. On 522 in West Virginia. And all of the sudden the Fella slammed on the brakes and flew into a little gravel parking lot.

There was smoke.
And there was definitely BBQ.
And it was time for lunch.

BBQ

We were so glad we stopped. The smell was heavenly. The sandwiches were divine. A wonderful pulled pork with a sauce that reminded you of Brunswick stew. Mike would not tell us what was in it. But I have two jars to help me figure it out.

If you are ever in the area it's a must. The old building is around 130 years old and was once a post office and also a general store. You know I love those.

BBQ is one of the wonders of the USA. It changed my life the first time my lips touched the stuff.

It seems to me that every BBQ joint we always stopped it is 'World Famous...' I think it's part of it's charm!

YUM! My niece goes to college in WVA so I might have to look this place up!

P.S. Your pics no longer show up on my blog roll. They say that this pic is no longer available and then the flickr logo...??? And it's been that way for your last few posts.

now i'm hungry.

i thought it was only west coast people who call it bbq? i thought "you people" (anyone not from the west coast) called it grilled.

and here is a question- why isn't virginia referred to as "east virginia?" i think that should be changed.
