Almost

It was almost a good day yesterday. You know the sort? I'm certain that the universe was playing with me just a little bit. Perhaps a little fun at my expense. I'm happy to laugh about it all today. After all, that's pretty much all you can do. Well, that and say thank you. The big sort of thank you.

I was almost in an accident. It wasn't my fault- or wouldn't have been- but somehow that never seems to matter. An oncoming car ran off the road and then over corrected. She was coming straight for me. I braced. I flashed back to this. She came within inches- almost.

I'm always amazed how clear you can think in those flashes of panic. First applying the brakes and then hitting the gas to escape. I think it's a moment of prayer. It's not the bow your head, clasp your hands sort of prayer. It's a silent conversation with God. Show me the way. And if it weren't for such amazing gratitude and reflection- you'd almost miss that moment. Of course I had to stop shaking first.

And I had almost made it home last night when it almost happened again. Another car wavered.

See- I told you the universe was playing with me just a little bit.

It almost makes sense that I woke up yesterday morning thinking about my truck tires. Weird. I thought maybe I was destined for a flat. When you get a new truck those sort of thoughts creep into your head. They do. I was almost ready to drive something else.

But I almost believe it was a sign. Or a premonition- I get those.

And I'm almost certain that I have a guardian angel. And I know her name is Della. She was with me yesterday, too. Thank you, Grandma.

I'm so sorry you had such a nerve wracking day, and so happy you are alright! I am like you and get that little voice that tells me something, and I learned a long time ago that I better listen up!

I'm so glad you have your grandma watching over you!

I hope today goes much better!

I'm so thankful you're safe. I witnessed a nasty accident last week and I'm back to 'seatbelt' at all times even on my country roads.
