A tight fit

A little (um, big) migraine left me down for the count on Saturday. I am not sure what hurt more- my head or feeling my beloved weekend slipping away.

NO- I said as I turned over for another hour of sleep. BUT I could not move.

So- What did I do?
Well, upon feeling better on Sunday morning I jumped out of bed at 5:30am and commenced with an all out effort to make it fit- all my plans, intentions, and hopes for the first weekend of Spring.

I took the dogs out.
I fished the Sunday paper out of the mailbox.

And first, my sacred Sunday newspaper ritual. Nothing makes my heart swoon like coupons and the new Target ad. And I drink all that in with a big, big glass of iced coffee.

My time.

Then I had to squeeze in grocery shopping and errands. And these were the perfect fit for that-

Converse

I hopped in the car, rolled down the windows and blasted a little Dierks Bentley. And nothing but the back roads will do on a sunny Sunday morning.

Before I knew it the groceries were unloaded and put away. I changed uniforms and it was time to rake leaves.

This is me raking leaves.

Working hard

I squeezed it all in. Laundry. Nesting. Dishes. Naps. Grilling. Open windows and breezes. Daffodils. The slow unfolding of the carporch. If you've been around you get the reference to that one. If you are new- I'll show you soon.

It was a tight fit. But I took a deep breath and dove right in. I squeezed the life right out of my one day, my Sunday. How about you- did you fit it all in?

Woo Hoo for the Target ad! Gotta LOVE Target (and Target clearance!)! And I adore your cute sneakers too...perfect for weekend errands and cruising. So happy your migraine is better. I suffer from those as well so I, quite literally, "feel" your pain. Have a great week!

We got 11 inches of snow on the first day of Spring. We are in the south, for heaven's sake! Oh well, tomorrow it's going to be near 70* and I can't wait to open all these windows. I'm glad your headache went away, migraines stink!

I like your newsy post and was saddened to hear that a migraine had you down and out on Saturday.
For me, it was cleaning and then relaxing. Sort of what you're doing here except my footwear wasn't nearly as fun.

I'm sorry to hear that a migraine sucked a little of the life out of your weekend. But I'm glad to hear that you fit everything in on Sunday. I fit a lot in this weekend, including a big clawfoot tub, which is now wedged into my garage! I hope you continue to feel better, migraines are simply no fun!

Sorry to hear about your migraine...I get them on occasion and I know how they can keep you down.
Sounds like you made up for it on Sunday. I had a relaxing day of visiting with my parents in my hometown.
Have a great week.

Glad you were able to enjoy at least part of your weekend! We planted some seed trays, took down the rest of the Christmas lights (um....yeah, we had A LOT!), went for ice cream and cleaned the garage (somewhat)...50% fresh air, 50% productivity! ;)

I NEVER fit it ALL in; something always goes undone; such is life. I love your golashes and your approach to raking. Can't wait to see carporch version 2010!
