I heart sewing

I finally picked up a needle and thread again. It had been a very, very long time. I plundered in my box of fabric and found these heart pieces I cut out more than a year ago. Too long.

As the snow fell outside on Friday and Saturday I curled up in bed with buttons, and fabric and a rainbow of colorful thread.

I had no plan. No design. I just sewed.

Homemade heart pillow

It's not perfect. The stitches go here and there. But it felt good to just go with it. The colors felt good.

The CREATIVITY felt so good. I crave that. It's something I need more of.

So, there will be more hearts to come and just in time too. Miss Kim at Daisy Cottage has asked us to open and share our hearts. She is so very good at that.

Please go read this story if you have not already. Go back a few posts to catch up. It will touch you in a HUGE way.

Hello Daughter...I often hear and read of those apologizing for something not being perfect. Who is to define what is perfect. Your heart is beautiful and perfect in every way. I am a firm believer that as the Bible says, we are not without imperfections, but that in my mind does not make us unable to see the beauty that is before them. I have always treasured those things that someone has taken the time to put there heart and soul into making and presenting it to someone for no special occasion...other than THEY CARE. We are not perfect and things around us not perfect, so people in blogland stop apolozing for a blurred photo-the beauty is still there, stop apologizing for an object being on the table that is not supposed to be there, when you take a picture-the picture is still awesome and it only let's know that we are normal.
Again to my wonderful and precious daughter your homemade heart is beautiful and for those who might not know you as well as your Mom...You also have a beautiful and giving heart.

Love You Much,
Mom

It isn't supposed to be perfect. Things made with love aren't perfect. This is adorable! It does feel good to create, doesn't it?
