BellaDella vs. Food

The Fella and I are big fans of the Travel Channel's Man vs. Food. Actually the Fella and I are just big fans of food, period. When we started planning our trip to Atlanta we immediately thought of the Atlanta episode from last season.

Our first stop was Big Pie in the Sky, home of the Carnivore, an 11 pound pizza. We skipped that one and ordered the large Carnivore version instead. It wasn't 11 pounds. But it was HUGE.

This picture does not do it justice. Individual slices are about a foot long! Which is apparently why the plates they bring you are actually small pizza baking sheets.

The Carnivore is delish! And please note that the 2 boxes of leftovers traveled all the way back to Richmond with us. The Fella ate pizza all week upon our return. I told you it was big!

Our second stop on the Man vs. Food tour was Gladys Knight and Ron Winan's Chicken & Waffles. Heaven. This southern girl is happy whenever a menu has a choice that includes fried, gravy and greens. No need to look at anything else. See...

Let me share a little issue that this greens loving girl ran into. Apparently folks in Georgia like their vinegar in a little jar over these little yellow pepper thingies. They slapped that thing on the table everywhere we went. Oh, because everywhere we went I ordered greens. And greens need vinegar. But this girl wants some regular old apple cider vinegar. They looked at me like I was nuts and each time went to the kitchen to scrounge some up. Next trip to the deep south I am taking a flask.

The Fella ordered the chicken and waffles of course. The whole meal was to die for. And by to die for I mean we were so full we thought we were going to die.

Are you hungry?

Oh Man! Give me some southern fried (anything) chicken, mashed (or whipped) taters covered in gravy, a big ole fluffy biscut and some collards and I am in heaven! (Di can have my lima beans)

Sounds about right to this GA girl but don't tell anyone I hate collards. But everything yum!

Well, of course we like our vinegar in a jar with hot peppers! I remember my parents always had a jar of that on the lazy susan! I hope you got out of there before the floods hit! xo, suzy
