The kitchen pantry...

Have I ever told you that the little farmhouse has a pantry?

Well, it does. See it there on the other side of the kitchen table? It's the walk-in kind with shelves and even an counter and some cabinets. I seemed to have overlooked this little room in all my days of show and tell. It's sort of like a little grocery store. Okay, okay. I promise to take more pictures and invite you in for a close-up. Soon.

The Fella and I take turns organizing the shelves. We are weird like that. We are also both Capricorns (read anal) and at 6'5 (him) and 5'6 (me) have a different perspective on what goes where.

Does your kitchen have a pantry?

Mine does not. But my parents house does and my mom stuffed so much things in there it was hard to find anything. LOL. But a pantry is a bonus and I hope my next home has one.

Hope you are doing well! I've missed you. Have a great week.

My kitchen has 2 pantries. One was meant to be a laundry closet, but the builder made another small room (originally to be a small office) into the laundry room, so the extra space in the kitchen then became a 2nd pantry instead of a laundry closet. Good idea because I would NEVER want my laundry area in the kitchen! ugh.

Yes, mine does have a pantry...I have a (messy) walkin pantry off of my laundry room for the larger items, like small appliances, entertaining pieces, and extra dishes. Then I have a smaller pantry in my kitchen that holds the overstock of food and a few decorative things. It has a screen door on it. It is like a little room. You can see it on my blog sidebar in the photo album or scroll down through the posts, I actually did a whole post on it! Thanks for sharing, I love how organized you are!

We did not have a pantry, so we built one in the corner where an extra set of 4 steps lead to the dining room. It is the best thing we could do for more storage. The appraiser did not give us any credit for it when we refinanced. It was just considered a closet and lost the square footage.

I grew up with a pantry, and my old apartment in Chicago had a pantry when I was first married. I LOVED IT! I sure wish I had one now. From what I have been told, this old 1869 farmhouse I'm in now had a pantry, but it became a bathroom when plumbing was installed! Makes sense why my bathroom is right in the kitchen. :o/ I have a makeshift one now in the office.

Nothing like a pantry.

It seems to be the areas that people don't normally get to see that I find most interesting. Closets and pantries are fascinating. :)

OMG that has such character. I love it. I guess it is best that I don't have one because I would obsess over how it looks and with three kids it wouldn't look good most of the time! Maybe someday.

Yes--our kitchen has a pantry--I organize and three kids and a hubby mess it up! LOL

Love your kitchen chairs...where did you find them?? Did you paint them yourself??

Stop over and see our fields of beautiful sunflowers. :)

Yep, I sure do and so glad to have one...it is so easy to just throw something in there and then come back and fix the way it should go...it is a great lifesaver!

Two Capricorns in one house? That must make life interesting! I am one too (1/11)... though your house looks way more organized than mine these days. I think I'm slipping. And I sure wish I had a pantry like that. Somehow regular cupboards just don't compare.

My first visit, and I definitely shall return :) Love the pantry! We have a 'pantry cabinet' and that's it. I'm such a stock-up grocery buyer, we really need a walk-in pantry. Someday! -Tammy

Well, not a big walk-in one mine doesn't have! I'm so envious! You've been holding out on us, Kim. A walk-in pantry. Wow! I am completely impressed.

No pantry in my kitchen. I do have an old ironing board cabinet that has been turned into a spice rack. Capricorn on this end too (Jan 5th) so my spices are alphabetized. Hubby once reorganized them to get them to fit "better" -- didn't know they were organized from A-Z. He knows BETTER now...don't mess with my cabinets.

My kitchen has a pantry but it's tiny... it's really just a cupboard. I used to have a walk-in pantry in a previous house, wish I still had one as big. Yours looks amazing. :)

Oh, I am so jealous of all of you that are lucky enough to have a pantry. I have never had a pantry and only once a laundry room. I do love our 2 car attached garage which we are working on getting very organized. That is an advantage of all the fabulouse older homes. Enjoy.

I have serious pantry envy. In our old house we had a great walk in one but this house has a large 'cupboard' which is impractical and annoying. Oh how I crave for a lovely, white pantry like yours. Can I come over and help sort with you? That would be pantry love by proxy, no? xo

pantries are the best. we have one. it used to be a little bathroom right. we went to remodel it about 15 years ago and realized we didn't need 3 bathrooms in this house, especially one connected to the kitchen. so it became the pantry. love it!

our little nest has a pantry, but not nearly as cool and organized as yours! :) I'm jealous!

Growing up my parents had a mudroom pantry, a whole room! Which looking back on, was probably bigger than my kitchen now. Sigh.

Since the pantry opens off of the dining room, isn't it called a butler's pantry or butler's closet?

OH how I'd love to have that pantry! Please show more pictures soon! And to have a counter and cabinet IN the pantry is a bonus! Feel lucky!

Okay, that's it...I'm convinced you have a magical place over there. Every time I visit I see something I want. I need a pantry now (and a clothes line, and some super cute apron finds...oh and my very own country cozy store)!!

Dena
