In the garden...

We finally got the garden in on Sunday and it feels so good, well, except for all the sore muscles. Please note that I actually did some work even though you will only see the Fella in these pictures. Well, except for the one of my cute boots. But darn, the Fella is working in that one too...and I am sitting in the shade.

So far we have three rows of yellow sweet corn, a row of snaps, six mounds of cucumbers, three of watermelon and two of pumpkins. Later this week I will pick up some tomato and pepper plants from the local berry farm. I even planted some wildflowers along the edge.

Sunday was one of those perfect weather days with sunshine and amazing blue skies and a wonderful breeze. I love those sort of days.

I promise I will keep you guys updated as things start to grow...hopefully start to grow.

I need a scarecrow- what do you think?

Definitely a scarecrow is in order. Maybe put those boots on him? *giggles

Ooh how I love gardens! We used to have a little house and I tried to grow an English garden. You know those roll out carpets promising to grow tons and tons of flowers? I grew weeds!! Sadest thing was that I was so proud of it until my Dad confirmed (over the phone!) that they were only weeds. *Sigh* So you grow girl for all of us!! :)

We got our garden in Saturday. Now the work really begins.

Love your clothes pin holder. I also have a clothes line, but I'm not able to use it as much as I'd like. I work full time, and it just seems faster to throw it in the dryer.

Have a great day.

How wonderful to be able to have the kind of space to plant/grow such wonderful goodies! Looks like fella is working hard! What a good man!
Love those boots of yours. Yes, Yes, I'm sure they saw their fair share of dirt that day :0)
We're also working in our yard, however, more of "landscaping" vs. gardening.
I hope you'll take pictures of your goodies as your garden matures and grows. I'd really love to see!
Have a great day!

good for you. i am not really a garden girl - unless you call 1500 acres of corn and soybeans a garden - but i love the look of them and wish i had the patience to tend to one. those are cute boots.

You could always hang a scarecrow from your clothes line! That might scare off a bird of two! Keep us updated on that garden.
