BellaFella, the Burger, and Blackstone...

It seems funny to finally post about last weekend's adventures as we head into another one. But that's okay, I'm a little slow this week.

Last Sunday BellaFella and I headed to a local diner to tackle their big burger. Well, the Fella went to tackle the burger, I went for lunch and to take pictures. Have you watched Man v. Food on the Travel Channel? The Fella has been watching it a lot and thought he would give this sort of thing a try and there was a free t-shirt involved.

Um, I had not even finished my cheeseburger and fries yet- my normal size burger and fries that is. Why no picture with the Fella and his victorious tee? They didn't have a shirt big enough for him. He's a big boy.

After lunch we hit the road and were headed back home, or so I thought. Instead we decided to go riding. Do any of you call it this? Basically it means we head out with no destination in my mind and see where the road takes us.

Sunday afternoon the road took us to Blackstone, Virginia. It's a beautiful little town with an adorable main street...and drum roll please...really fun antique/junk store...which was still open at 4pm on Sunday afternoon. In fact, I still had 2 hours to wander around before it closed. Happy dance. We will be returning to hit several other stores and the Goodwill soon.

Happy shopping...

Fun stuff, huh? So, what adventures await you this weekend?

So they didn't have a t-shirt large enough? Wouldn't it make sence that someone who ate the whole burger might be...oh I don't know...on the larger side?

Now that was a hamburger my husband would appreciate. Love the litttle town it reminds me of my hometown.

I can't believe you did not buy just about everything in that little store! I love the town! How cute was all of that? Wow, I love just heading out on a Saturday with no destination. Great post, I may have to do this over the week-end, minus the burger though!

I LOVE days like that! We use to do that all the time when we were first married. Now we do that in the Chicago area, trying to figure out what all our new favorite spots will be. This weekend not a whole lot planned other than trying to see a movie. This week I want to see New in Town.

Have a great weekend!
Love~

On the right day, I could probably eat one of those burgers. No, I'm not proud of it. :)

What a cute little shop!

There was a time when CB could have eaten that burger!!! He's not nearly as big as BellaFella, but he could put away some grub!

This weekend? We're having friends over for an oyster roast tonight, then we are going to their house for our annual Superbowl Party on Sunday:) (Do you "know" Momx2 ??)

Hope this weekend is as wonderful as the last:)

That looks awesome!! We just don't have many antique shops anymore. I'm going to have to hunt for some in nearby towns. Thanks for your sweet comment yesterday. Have a great weekend. OH! We say "Let's take a drive" when we have no destination--I like your saying too.

Those are great photos of Blackstone and of the Antique Mall - one of my favorite places to find goodies for our inn. Blackstone has some good restaurants, too - come back when you can check out one or two of them!

How fun... We are in Roanoke, not far from Blacksburg. Did you catch the name of the antique store? I'd love to go there in the next month or so.... Thanks!

I LOVE THE LITTLE TRIP YOU TOOK US ON. I FOUND ALOT OF THINGS I WOULD LOVE TO BUY.
THIS WEEK-END IS SUPER BOWL SO I AM SURE WE WILL NOT GO ANY WHERE.

Ok SSG is adding burger makings onto her grocery list this week! And that town is SUPER CUTE!

Why am I up at 5 a.m. on a Saturday morning? My NEIGHBOR'S DOG who I am dog sitting for who cries, cries, cries at 4 a.m. like Lassie though I have NO IDEA what it is trying to tell me because he peed, he pooped, he ate, doesn't he go back to bed now?!?! No. He stares at me while I'm getting caught up on blogs. GAH! Is 5 a.m. too early for a cocktail?

YES!!! I watch Man vs. Food and also Diners, Dives and Drive-ins. I have a whole list of places all over the country that I want to visit. What's the name of that diner?? Seriously, I need to add it to my list!

Thanks so much for the trip into small town America. You know that's right up MY alley. HA. I enjoyed the photo of the drug store sign very much.

Okay, first off - let me just say that if I could squeeze my butt through the screen I would be trying to drag some goodies back through with me! What wonderful stores you have out there! Kay, then that burger? My hubby would be squeezing through for that ;) Hehehee! Hope you had a great weekend.

I love to go "riding" as you say. I don't have a particular term. Maybe wandering or putzing around. It is one of my most favorite ways to spend a day though...however you call it. What a wonderful day!

OMG...what a burger! I've watched that man vs. food too...can't believe he can eat all that stuff!

I love to go riding, unfortunately, Glenn doesn't and it's kinda boring going by yourself!

Looks like fun tho!
