Found: One large female brown cow. She may answer to the name of Bessie, but of course I am making that up...the name part at least. The rest is true. It started like this...
While watering the garden old hubby summoned me from another part of the yard. Run, he said. Shut up, I said. Run, run. Well, Mr. that is easier said than done. Easier had I not shed a rather important undergarment upon arriving home from work. One does not necessarily don a sports bra just in case husband spots roaming cow in neighbor's back yard and yells run. Besides, the cow wasn't chasing me. I run when chased! I digress.
If anyone is missing a brown cow that shows some interest upon being called Bessie and has tag number K64, please leave me a comment. Apparently she has escaped from the pasture behind our property somewhere. I hear the cow chatter (aka mooing) back there but can't see them. We called our neighbor across the road who I can only assume started a chain of phone calls alerting the locals. We can still hear her mooing over in the woods. The others are talking to her. Other cows, that is.
Hey, maybe they are taping one of those California cheese commercials. Probably not. Just another night here on the little farm. You will note that I am NOT a good photographer. I learned tonight that I prefer a fence between me and the cows. I was slightly afraid. Hey, don't ridicule me...they are big. And mom, I know you are thinking that you raised a better country girl than that...I will remind you that you are afraid of deer. Deer. Love you, mom.

Oh no! If nobody claims her, I'll take her. I'm sure she'd fit on my back deck with no trouble! Fisher would LOVE her.
Cute story - I got over my fear of cows when I married a farmer - never been chased - not yet anyway. Glad you are feeling better - have a great day! Cathy
Cute story! Always adventure waiting to be had in the country!
Hugs!

When I was a kid, we used to always have to go help the neighbors when their cows got out. It seemed to happen on a regular basis. I always thought it was a great adventure to help round them up.
As an adult, I would rather look at them over the fence:) I don't want to step in anything that might ruin my shoes! heehee!
This is hilarious. Maybe Bessie just senses that life might be better on your side of the fence.
What a great post!! If not claimed, are you considering adoption...that would be a moooving thing to do! Love your site! You're not (too) far from me.
This is so wonderful.....Mary
they are big aren't they. maybe she likes you home better than hers.
