When it rains...

It is finally, finally raining in my little part of Virginia this morning. After watching the scattered storms last night go both north and south of us I was losing hope. But I awoke to the flashes of lightening and the rumble of thunder. It started as a drizzle and turned into quite a steady rain. It was with me all the way to work. Of course I must share with you several reasons it finally decided to rain this morning...

1- I actually dried my hair today- I've been on a bit of summer hairdryer hiatus.
2- I am wearing my only white dress one last time before Labor Day- I am sort of old-fashioned that way.
3- Our air conditioner is broken again and I had the windows wide open.
4- My good umbrella was at work.

The only other thing I could have done to increase our precipitation odds was wash my car last night. But ask my mom- I NEVER wash my car. And after today I won't need to!

I adore a good rainy day. It's a shame I have to waste it here at work. I'd love to be at home snuggled in bed with a pile of magazines and books (and cats), staring out the windows at this. Rain, rain, don't go away...wait for me to get home.

If it's rain you want, have I got THE PLACE for you! It rains at least 364 days out of the year here!

You're right ~ there's nothing like curling up with a good book or some magazines on a rainy day.

I'm hoping we get some rain soon, too. It's pretty dry right now here in MN.

Blessings to you!

I love your window! So pretty with the colored bottles! I had some pretty glass birds and bunnies in my window this summer...they looked so pretty with the sun shining through them. So glad you have some rain! Watch out for those spiders who want to come in for the winter! LOL! Yikes! (I do not think I'd ever get over a spider in my mouth!) The spider fell from the curtain all curled up...I managed to place a bowl over the body until a braver soul comes to take it away!!! I would love to have you come and pumpkin pick!!! That would be so fun!
Have a great day...enjoy your rain...hope it waits for you to get home!
Hugs!

Jealous here. I tried all of your tricks, including washing the car, but to no avail:( Maybe tomorrow!

We are not going away for the holiday, so I hope to see a few drops around my house this weekend. I certainly enjoy cuddling up.....

Of course it rained when you dried your hair! That's the way it works, right? Here in California, our rainy season is from late fall to early spring. One of my favorite things about visiting back east is the summer storms. I love to watch them! Hope the rain waits for you to get home!
