So, I have found that when I am blocked I tend to peruse the pictures that are saved on our computer. Tonight I have landed in our Minnesota 2007 folder- also known to me as the Garrison Keillor, Lake Wobegon Honeymoon Tour of 2007. Last year around this time, before we moved to the little farm, the newlywed couple packed up for my first trip to Minnesota. My in-laws are from there. Yes, I know what you are thinking...in-laws and honeymoon. Hey, we had our own motorhome.
All I knew about Minnesota were lakes- a lot of lakes. To make a long story short...or shorter...I loved Minnesota. You can't get too rural for me. Okay, I lie. You can- I only like the rural that has plumbing and electricity. But I digress. We spent one week on my father-in-law's farm outside of Rochester and the second week on Lake Mary- which shockingly was 6 hours north and still not in Canada- close though. They simply refer to it as up north. Now, I don't want to offend any of my Minnesotan readers (I know you all are out there) but I had a hard time with the 10,000 lakes thing. Here in Virginia we refer to some of your "lakes" as ponds. I'm just saying.
I should mention my first stop on the tour was the world famous Minnesota State Fair. Huge. I have four words to describe the state fair...food-on-a-stick! And of course we walked the entire Mall of America. Why? Well, apparently it's a must. I am not a real mally kind of girl but let me tell you they had one nice Target.
Good memories on this Monday night. If you have made it this far you are probably hoping my blogger's block is coming back soon- really soon. I will save you from my rambling Minnesota madness and show you some tour stops....

first time popping in...your profile just drew me in. Growing up in WI, but now in NC (20 miles from the VA border:), I have such fond memories of buying the corn on the cob oozing in butter...yum. Nothing better!
Food on a stick - or "fried everything"
Who needs photog lessons? You certainly DON'T, missy! I love, love, love the rural too--open spaces, red and white barns, lakes or ponds or both ... ahhh, makes me relax just thinking about it! And yes, PARIS! I know! I have a guidebook from 2003, that's how long I've been planning this trip. It just doesn't even seem real!
