Batteries not included...

I set out last night to take some pictures of my new treasures as I had promised and I had a little camera trouble- also known as cheap batteries. I went through 3 sets of AAs last night and managed to get a few taken before it died completely. Please note that photography is definitely not my thing.

The chairs were part of the wonderful gifts from my work friend. Remember, I went by her house on Saturday morning and loaded up my car. I have all the pieces to finish the seats on the ones below. I just need to reload the old staple gun. The little chair with the gold upholstery is adorable. I believe it belonged to her grandmother. I sort of like it just the way it is. I am just going to clean it up and hope that my house gets bigger! Actually I think some of this stuff will find a home in the old store.

The items below are some of the great stuff I loaded my Goodwill cart with the night before last. I think I must be starting a vintage mug collection, unintentionally of course! All of those are old and made in Japan. I just love the colors and designs. Check out the chickens on the blue ones- you might have to use a magnifying glass- I should have taken a close up. The green gingham fabric- Martha Stewart curtains. Not sure where they are going. Actually, now that I think about it, I might use them to cover the seats of the two little chairs above.

I spent last night putting all this stuff away (read hiding from husband). He came home from work this morning to find the kitchen completely rearranged and a new bench at the kitchen table. We won't even mention how many new plates went on the wall! More pictures will come soon. I need to charge my batteries- so to speak!

Hi Kim! Thanks so much for leaving me a comment! I am from VA as well and would LOVE to own that old general store! How lucky you are! I have enjoyed reading all of your blog entries too! It's funny b/c my mom and I love trips to Goodwill together...although we have to sell most of the things that we find in our booth b/c we don't have any more room left in our 3 houses! Oh, and while your anniv. is July 7th, my wedding anniversary is JUNE 7th! Although, mine was 11 yrs. this year. Well, keep in touch!
