Cracker Barrel of laughs...

I was blessed tonight to meet a dear friend for dinner at Cracker Barrel. Are you sitting down? She had never been there before. Huh? Who can't love the mix of shopping and good country food? Well, over chicken 'n' dumplins (me, of course) and fried shrimp we shared several hours of laughs. I think I always forget that not everyone was raised in the country. I assume that the entire universe knows what a snap is- as in bean- as in greenbean.

And cows- I taught her about cows. And I don't know anything about cows. Sure, I observe them rather closely while they meander in the pasture across the road but I am by no means a bovine expert. In fact, I always thought they just stood there chewing and mooing. Well, guess what? They run. They play. They do other things that I won't mention here. My friend was shocked by the running part. You know, you learn something every day they say...

After imparting so much wisdom and thoroughly enjoying my night with my friend I took off for parts unknown- also know as the middle of nowhere- also known as home. I love coming home. Tonight I pulled into the driveway, greeted the cows, who happened to be standing still, and sat out on my carport...um I mean back porch. I love that time of the day when darkness is just starting to seep into the late day sky. The days are definitely getting shorter. The bug songs are changing. I thought I would share my twilight with everyone. Good night and sweet dreams.

P.S. I was thinking of making more yo-yo's just to leave out in the tin that I displayed them in. They're so darn cute!

I love C.B.'s chicken and dumplings!!! Omigosh, now you've gone and mentioned them and the closest Cracker Barrel is 40 miles away. With the price of gas my chicken and dumplings will cost $25. HA.

You know what, I'm totally addicted to the quiet......the peace and quiet of living in the country. Don't feel bad, I don't know much about cows either.
