Or do I?
I was telling BellaMomma about this green enamel pot I recently scooped up at a thrift store- in their kitchen section.
I paused in the middle of my story.
You don't think?
No, it couldn't be.
As I was sitting their talking to my mom, this innocent green pot was on the stove at home. It occurred to me that perhaps it was in the wrong room. Know what I mean?
We googled it. We laughed until, well, we 'bout peed in our pants.
I didn't mention it to the Fella. Afterall- I hadn't cooked anything in it...yet.
So- what do you think?
Is this pot for vegetable soup or pee soup?

I think perhaps I would err on the side of caution and use it for 'decor'.
I vote PEE.
Hmmm...now that you mention it it does sort of look like a "chamber pot".☺
I sure like that color of green.
Do you think it might be the interior pot of a crock pot. I'm just going by the wide lip on it.

uh-oh! I totally wouldn't use it now! But maybe there is a mark on the bottom that you could check out to see what kind of pots they made?
HAHA, you sure made me laugh! Please let us know what you find out ~Blessings~
Hmmm...good question!
Have a great day!
Hugs!

...or a window to throw it out of:) I wouldn't use it to cook in NO MATTER what! Could pass for either use! Have a blessed day my friend! HUGS!
With pee in question, I think it should become a charming decor pot. It is adorable and a great color...
I have had to use chamber pots many times, and they looked nothing like this. I say it is a cooking pot. I am sure you will find good use for it.
Ah, you would be fine, I worked with a Nephrologist who tasted his patients urine and he lived into his late 90's. Plus LV ought to know her stuff!
I totally agree with the first post. Ha!!
I think chamber pots all have handles anyway the ones I remember from my youth in the 1930's.
When in doubt plant a flower in it.
I'm nearly certain it's a piss pot! Would look great on the porch--hee hee!
Don't think I'd take any chances with this one!

Just because you THINK it may have been a chamber pot is reason enough to get that out of the kitchen quick. Ha! This is hilarious.
Hi. I don't thinks this is a chamber pot. It doesn't appear to have a handle. You need a handle to carry the pot outside and empty it. We have an old chamber pot that we keep under the kitchen sink, for collecting veggie scraps. We then carry it out and empty the contents on the compost pile. So, its current use is somewhat like its purpose back in the good old days!
Err on the side of caution. lol
It might make a nice flower pot.
I believe that if it were a chamber pot it would have some kind of a handle on it for carrying. Mine has a wire handle. Also, with the way the lid fits, it looks like it's a cooking pot, all the chamber pots that I've seen have a lid that fits over the pot, not inside a rim. Chamber pots would have a wider, more rounded lip for "comfort" while sitting! But if you're still worried about it, then just use it for decoration.
