This handkerchief reminds me of Della

My Grandma carried a handkerchief. She had dozens upon dozens of them. You could always find the pretty flowers peaking out of her tight grip. I doubt she even realized how she held onto it like someone might take it away.

I know this because I do the same thing. A napkin, a tissue. I hold it in my hand for hours before I realize it's there.

I hold onto Grandma too. And she's always there. My true and real guardian angel. And this photo made me think of her and the things that we hold on to so tightly. My grandma- Della.

And last night I asked her to watch over my Fella as he drove to work on the ice. And I have no doubt she was there holding him tight.

I never thought much about hankies, but now I want to find some cute ones and start carrying them! The one in your photo is adorable

Very sweet post...I love it even though it did bring a few tears to my eyes. My Grandma always carries hankies too. :) Hope you can stop by for a visit soon.

I remember those hankies and the ladies who carried them, who prayed and looked out for us, and still are.

now we carry those little bundle packs of kleenex, we should get some class and bring back the hankies.

How precious! I remember my mom would pick out packages of hankies as gifts for my schoolteachers when we were young...I always thought it was weird, but I have grown up to love them! I hope some of them saved them!
