Blue light special...

Without Target my closet would be empty and so would my wallet. Nothing makes me happier than those red Target clearance stickers. Check out these fun Target flats. They have them there now in all sorts of fun colors. Go.

And yes, I am known to sport quite a few things from Walmart. Hey, I get distracted when I am grocery shopping. Go.

Last week I ventured into K-mart. It had been a long time. And guess what- they have some really cute stuff. Of course I made a beeline for the clearance rack. And look what I found for $2.50. I got one in yellow too. (Jeans, Target clearance)

You should go check it out. People ask me for shopping advice all the time. I never really know what to say. I know it's a mix of skill, patience and simple good luck. I also know it's about rolling up your sleeves and heading into those places that hold the unexpected really fun stuff. I mean, that shirt would sell at Anthropologie for $60. Of course every compliment I receive is met with thanks, K-mart, $2.50.

They just shake their heads.

Good Morning Daughter:>).
Your post got me to thinking. There is no way that you could not be the thrifter that you are...Your mom's first maternity outfit was store bought (on sale of course), but after that all my other clothes were hand-me-downs. So at an early, very early age, you got a glimpse of what a good bargain was. Not to mention that you learned from the best...your Granny and your good ole MOM...You have even taken it to a new level though-you make it work in all levels of your life...from puppy and kitty treats right down to your unmentionables (no folks, she doesn't buy used when it comes to those), but she can catch those bargains at Victoria Secrets, etc.

She does a Momma proud, but, yes there is a "butt"...as young as 2 yrs. old I could put her in an outfit and she would stand in front of the mirror and rebel...more like scream...sometimes (most of the time) I would give in, so we could get where we were going. She was picky about her bargains then as she is now.

I am proud of you. As you were growing up, especially during middle and high school, you were never to proud to wear things on sale from K-mart, Rose's, etc...just wherever we could find a bargain and it was something you liked. Then I laugh, because as you mentioned...people ask you for shopping advice and they did the same thing when you were in M & H school. Remember when we would catch a friend, who normally wouldn't be caught dead shopping in K-mart...there looking for a pair of shoes like you had bought:>). You had it then gal and you still do. You look like a million dollar beauty. Stand Proud as you represent all of us thrifter-bargain gals out there.

Love ya,
Mom

I am the exact same way! Our flower shop is in a Target shopping center and I, literally, have to walk only about 50 feet to go to Target. And boy, do I go to Target! You have such great taste, wish we lived closer so I could meet you :)

Me too! Like my blouse? I got it brand new, tag still on it, (designer linen blouse) at Goodwill for $2.50!

Wish very much that I could wear that style. I've tried, believe me since they are in every store this past summer. BUT they make me look pregnant and at age 55, well.... that just isn't pretty on me. But being thrifty? LOVE IT!

I must confess that I do 90% of my clothes shopping at Target, K-Mart and Thrift Shops with a little of Macy's on sale stuff thrown in. Love you purchases.

Here is a link that reminded me of your previous post about needing some scalloped edging. Isn't is adorable!

I frequently look down and realize that everything I'm wearing is from Target. They have the cutest things. I bought one of those elbow length t's that they have on sale for $9.99 this week. Love it so much I'm going back!

Love it love it! I'm sitting here now in a lovely Calvin Klein sweater purchased at a yard sale for 'a dolla'

Paying full price for things flat out take the fun out of it.

By the way...I do have on other clothes..not just the sweater!!!

I love those shoes...I need to see if there are any left at my Target. I don't really like our Target all that much...all the uppity and snobby people shop there and they're rude. I guess Walmart and Kmart are more my speed!

Michele
