The first harvest...

We had our first harvest of veggies from the garden. It's very exciting. The Fella and I picked a huge, huge bowl of snaps and a bunch of cucumbers. And of course we held a veggie photo shoot on the back steps. Did I mention how happy and excited we were?

And let me tell you there is more where that came from. BellaMomma- time to teach me how to can snaps. It's amazing how many you get from one little row! Anyone have any good snap (greenbean) recipes?

How exciting!! We've had probably over a dozen cucumbers and zucchinis. Cherry tomatoes any day, especially with the heat that's predicted. We've also got softball sized watermelon and cantelope coming on. We didn't plant beans. Maybe next year....

Bravo! I remember the first time we planted some potatoes. Hubby was so excited to find one when he was just 'checking' to see if there were any growing. The next thing I knew he had dug up the whole row like he was on an Easter egg hunt. ROFL Enjoy your produce!

Belated anniversary wishes. Your photos were wonderful!

Yummy!!! I think I will take the beans I bought in the country a few weeks ago out for dinner. As for the cucumbers...let me know how the sammie was!!! That is what I would be doing with those bad boys.

Omagosh, YUM! I loooove fresh vegetables from the garden...My mom used to grow snap peas and tomatoes and other stuff out in our garden when I was a youngin' :) I loved to go out there and pick them for a snack. MMM! Congrats on your first harvest, how exciting!

Nice little harvest there. I like to take my beans and stir fry them a little bit in a skillet with some olive oil, yellow pepper and garlic. After a couple minutes of stir frying, I put a pinch of marjoram and a couple tablespoons water in the pan, cover with a lid and let the beans steam for a cople of minutes. Yummy!

Ooooh! Nice haul! I just saw a plum and snap pea salad recipe somewhere ... I have it bookmarked in one of my 1,000 magazines. I'll dig around and send it your way. it was BEAUTIFUL on the plate--purple and green.

What a health bunch we would all be if we had gardens like that. How beautiful they are! Just perfect.

We just like to soak and boil them and serve them with a little crumbled bacon..yum.

People who don't make gardens have no idea the thrill of that first pick. It has got to be much better than the Academy Award. I had one little "sweet baby girl" tomato and I quickly ate it.

I love your posts! I've been seeing them for about a month. You do a great job. It really inspires me to get my cans of cream and black out and spray something to get a project complete. xox...Denise-Bloomin'
