Simple Summer things...

I thought we would take a little break from all the vintage finds and daydream about the old store a little bit. I took this photo several weeks ago and decided that it was even better in black and white. It is like traveling back in time...if only I could really do that. What a dream that would be.

I taking off from work today and plan to enjoy a relaxing, long weekend. Let us put the hopeful emphasis on the long part, gosh they always seem to go so fast. I hope yours is filled with all things that are so wonderful about this time of year...like whippoorwills, lightening bugs, the smell of passing Summer rain, wishes on dandelions, thunderstorms, going barefoot, lemonade, flipflops and popsicles...the simple things. Simple Summer things.

Wouldn't it be cool to go back in time, without the power to change anything and just "see". All the people who walked in and out of your little store, what they sold, what they wore. LOL, that rythmes! I often wish I could go back and just witness, not disturb.

So I'm with you on every simple summer thing you mentioned, except, what's a whippowirl?!
Have a very relaxing long weekend. Envious over here...oh yah ;)

Love the idea of the simple summer things. Nothing like the sound of a Whippoorwill and the thought of catching lightening bugs in a jar! Your photos are so beautiful!

How poetic! "...wishes on dandelions.." gave me goosebupms. I've been thinking about dandelions all morning as I wrote my post. Seeing them scatter in the breeze is so lovely to me.

I feel like the theme music from the Walton's should be playing in the back ground...Ike Godsey's Store.

Have a great weekend and may it go really slow.

The black and white photo does look like it was taken back in the days of my youth. Which would be the sixties. Okay, now is that on the property where you live? I'm trying to get this straight in my muddled mind...

My country days are soon to come. Can't wait to share about it more when I get some pictures. Your little place is so 'daydreamy'. It does look like an old photo. Cool :)
