Vintage variety...

I am not sure why but I've always been attracted to old things. I am always filled with nostalgia and like to be connected to the way things used to be. I guess this is why when I am out thrifting my eye always goes to things that are old and well-loved and collectible and remind me of days at my grandma's house.

I have found some great treasures lately...

I am especially drawn to old glasses and pottery and you know I love those old metal trays. I can never have enough of those. Who am I kidding- I am pretty much attracted to anything of the vintage variety.

What do you like to collect? Have you been thrifting lately or hitting the Spring yardsales?

SSG isn't a HUGE collector. She's a pretty big get ridder-er. BUT! She does dig on crisp, white dishes and um, MAGAZINES.

I only wish I could find the cool stuff that you manage to get. Central VA seems to be the hot bed for vintage finds!

Love them all!

You have some good thrifting places where you are, don't you!?! Lately, there hasn't been much of anything here.

Love your treasures!!!

I love the glasses. My grandmother had a whole cupboard full of similar ones. Didn't they come in soap powder or something?

I haven't done much treasure hunting yet. It's just now beginning to get nice. I did hit one garage sale a couple of weeks ago and bought a complete set of Bob Timberlake dishes for $5 and a whole box of old wooden folding rules for $3.

Those metal trays make great places to add magnets for use as a bulletin board. I love those glasses. Very colorful and vintage. A girl after my own heart! (I see herbs in some of that pottery.)

Hi My Dear BellaDaughter,

Love your finds! But be warned----you will not be hitting your BellaMomma's collection of old glasses :>). I guess from now on you will have to be stripped searched...and no there will be no distracting of my attention while you have your little bro or your dad sneek them into your car. LOL.

I just guess that from now on, when we are thrifting together, I will have to take the Auntie Rose approach...she jumps out of the car before I have come to a stop or even parked the car and takes off in fear that I will get to something before she does. Then when I find something that she has missed...she goes on and on about how did I miss that...how?...she was running so fast by the time I got out of the car, she had toured the entire sale...it is at this time I began to stroll and look around, only to have her following me and let me see...oh, I love that...I wish I had seen it first...all but pushing me down to the ground and grabbing it out of my hands...only to then say, Oh, look what I found.
LOL. Ask BellaDella...I am not exaggerating! I love her dearly, but she can drive you nuts at times. I could go on, but I will wait until I get my own Blog and then share some of my many funny stories and all of my wonderful treasures.

While I am thinking about it...has my wonderful daughter ever shared where she got her good taste for thrifting and finding bargains? It comes from her Mom, Grandma and her Granny.

Love You,
BellaMomma

Good finds. Really good. Loving the juice glasses and the floral metal trays. I have way to many collections - someday I will have to do a post on all the collections I have.

Hi Kim!

I missed you!! Love treasure hunting and seems you hit the motherload! You have great finds. I am drawn lately to colored glasses, I have great red wines. I also love your mom's comment. So sweet!

Have you ever seen the HGTV show "If walls could talk". I'm not sure if it's on anymore but it has to do with people buying old homes and finding treasure in them.

I love your finds...I collect McCoy and Roseville pottery, but also similar lines like Hull from that time frame. I was eyeing those pots you had in one of the photos, they're right up my alley. But the one drink glass with flowers--be still my heart. It's beautiful!
