Chair-ished Gift...

I've been wanting a comfy chair for my living room for quite a while. You see, sharing one couch with the 6'5 BellaFella isn't always the best. I wanted a chair to call my own. My new chair budget- $0.

Look what I got...

My mother-in-law heard my plight and offered up her vintage recliner- for free of course. Who knew that someone was out there waiting to appreciate the vintage gold circa the 1970s. I love it. And did I mention it reclines? And it matches with my new (old) embroidered pillow.

Of course this picture is deceiving...I have not been able to sit in my new chair. It's been filled with cats since its arrival on Sunday. I also need to thank my Fella for the delivery. We had a wee bit of a disagreement on the best route to bring it into the house. It involved me not wanting ruts in the front yard from his truck. Well, let's just say that my backdoor welcome mat is now living on the roof of the carport...and it didn't walk over there.

All is peaceful now and if you need me you can find me scrunched up in my new chair with a few cats. Hey, it's better than being scrunched up on the couch.

I totally agree about sharing a couch with a man who is 6'5" it is hard enough to find a couch long enough to fit them on when they want to stretch out let alone share!

Lovely new chair!

I don't even want to know how the mat ended up there, but I am sure it involved spinning tires and something flying...LOL

I love that chair!!! I had one once that was from the same era. Very cool and right within the budget.

Hello Daughter - First fellow bloggers, I can vouch that this is a very comfy chair, as I have rocked BellaDella's little nephew in it.

Ok - Now for the big question...please tell me that we are not going to have to come in the back door by the way of climbing onto the carport in order to feel welcome at your house.
If so, please let us know so that BellaBro and BellaPapa can get started on the steps going up on one side and down the other side of the carport and then through the gate...up the steps of the deck...we are now on your deck and at your back door...Baby girl, on second thought we are going to spring for a new welcome mat. LOL. But, wait a minute...did he throw the front door mat all the way and it landed on top of the carport...*&%@ he is a good shot!

I am glad to see that the chair did arrive safely and you and BellaFella are still married. Blame it all on the MIL...that seems to work for everyone else.

OOOOHHHH - I just had even a better thought he could have just sat your chair on the roof of the carport and we...(how did I get to be a part of this...oh, after being married for 37yrs...I have seen it all) could have sat a little table with an umbrella up there and you could have spruced it up...then put up a sign that said---BellaFella or any fella for that matter: NOT ALLOWED! GO FIND YOUR OWN ROOF AND THROW A WELCOME MAT UP ON IT AND FIX IT UP YOURSELF!!!! What is that you say BellaFella?
That's a big NO-NO to call your MIL names like that...yes you did. I heard every word, but I still love my Big BellaFella Son-In-Law:>).

You guys enjoy the chair!!!! And by the way, just let me say...there are sure to be more flying objects though out your marriage. How do you think BellaMoma and BellaPapa have been married so long.

lOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH,

Love,
BellaMoma

Great, great story. But your chair is wonderful. I had totally forgot this, but... We used to have a gold recliner when I was growing up. It would have been some time in the seventies. Of COURSE I was quite small. I can see me in it now. Glad you are enjoying it.

Just found your blog today. It's great.
Have a good day.

Oh, this is perfect. I can't wait to climb into MY chair in the evenings. Once you're settled in yours, you'll forget all about that mat thingy ;-)

What a beautiful chair (and pillow) - and I love the view into your home... it's all just beautiful! I wish I could say our snow is melting like yours is, but we have very cold temps here so it looks like it may stick around for a while... Donna @ An Enchanted Cottage
