Dawn Dawdling...

I am a morning person. I love that when I get up really early that it makes my day feel longer. This rule applies more to my beloved weekends than to my daily grind.

But I am not your rise and shine and greet the world with a great big old smile kind of morning person. It's a slow process. I dilly. I dally. I dawdle. I linger. I tarry.

BellaFella hears the same thing every morning- I am running late. I always say it like the words have never come out of my mouth, like it has never happened before. But the thing is- I am never technically late, just always way past my intended departure time. Yesterday I wanted to leave at 7:30am- the car pulled out at 8am. At least my intentions are good, right?

Why am I late? Because of- laundry, morning news, lollygagging, ironing, breakfast, doggie walking, outfit changing, laundry, fluffing, lollygagging, blog checking, hair drying, news, fluffing- did I mention outfit changing?

I could meander around my morning house for hours. Each and every work day I have to remind myself that I must get dressed and leave.

Does the sunrise make you want to linger? Do you share my dawdling dawn? Are you a morning person?

I am SO not a morning person. I wake the kids up at 7:00 to be out the door by 8:15. It's 7:12 and I'm typing this :) Have a good day.

When I was a working gal, back in the day..... I was always up on time and out the door early. Something my dad drilled into us at a young age... to NOT BE LATE. Now that I don't work I am still a rise and shine girl... love the morning hours, the morning news, morning Cup 'O Joe. Like you, if I don't see the early morning hours of the day I feel as though I have cheated myself out of part of my day. Hubby is a morning grump... but I embrace the day each and every day.

yes, i am a morning girl. i don't wake up too early though - 6:30, make my coffee, watch the news. then the kids get up and it's an hour of commotion. but after they're gone to school, the house is quiet again. i pour another cup of coffee and check blogs and email.

Hi! I just came over from Liz's blog. I have a really easy answer to this question. No! I am not a morning person. Ideally, I would go to bed somewhere around midnight and wake up somewhere around 9 am. Then, I would piddle around the house for about an hour, checking email, talking to my animals, finally, about 10:00 I would get in the shower and start my day. It's kind of pathetic when I look at it all written out like this. :)

Yes, I am a morning person, and my quiet pre-dawn house is one of my favorite places to be! I like having time to wake up along with the sun:) It's also a great time to catch a glimpse of some form of wildlife - Can't get enough of that!

So not a morning person here. I would rather sleep in as long as needed and then stay up late. However for some odd reason I do feel more accomplished if I wake up real early.

Thank you for your comments, it helps me to calm down and not stress so much! And I am a morning person, too. But I'm with you, I have a hard time getting out of the house. It's difficult to do when there's SO much more to do at home!

I am a morning person too and I would dawsle too if I lived where you do.

I love the whole waking up and not having to rush...watch the news, fresh coffee...

I feel off if I don't follow that inner clock...it sets my whole day on the wrong foot.

I love the mornings too. And that beautiful sky up there almost made me CRY. How I miss seeing the sky and not clouds ... and snow ... and more clouds ... then rain ... then ... well you get the idea.

And Kim! A BASEBALL PLAYING POTENTIAL FIREFIGHTER IN THE FAMILY? Why do you do these things to me? You enjoy the torture. I know.

I love mornings...but I don't like to have to go anywhere right away. I like to drink coffee, read blogs, chat with my family, watch the news..drink more coffee oh and stay in my jammies!!

I should get the kiddos up for school at 6:00 to be on the bus by 7:30 b/c THEY dawdle, but I usually end up hitting the snooze button therefore getting up at 7:00 to have them on the bus at 7:30 and then we are ALL stressed out as I'm yelling "We're late AGAIN...get your shoes...get your coat...get your backpacks on...the bus is COMING! *as I'm pushing them out the door* So not a morning person!
