Clean slate...

Christmas is all boxed up and has almost made it to the attic. Almost. The tree has been dragged to the burn pile. The lights have been tangled up into boxes. Each ornament lovingly placed in tissue paper waiting to surprise me next year. My nutcracker soldiers are at ease.

And my house is completely naked. Empty. Weird. Comfortable. Mine. Familiar.

I love starting the new year with a clean slate. I love the order. I love the possibilities.

I love the photo of the berries. I wish blogs had smell o vision because I love the way they smell.

So glad you are feeling better and that everything is all back to normal for you. I want you to enjoy your time off until Monday.

I am hoping to get your package off to you next week sometime and you will have to give Bellamom her surprise for me...it will be in the box as well...they are all hand made and I am hoping you will both be thrilled.

Yes, that fabric and your heart will be memories of mine forever. And big shout outs to Bellamom too, for not killing you after the house raping incident of 2008! LOL

You and Fella enjoy your time this long weekend!

I love you so.

I got such a late start this year (ornaments up three days before Christmas) that I am putting off cleaning up until Sunday. It will be bittersweet! I JUST found my Christmas Spirit, and now it's time to put him away for another year;/

Did you have snow this morning? We had snow, then sleet, then just plain old rain.....then the sun came out! What can you say about VA weather??? It's crazy!

Happy New Year! I'm working on the put away part and hope to finish tomorrow. I'm looking forward to that clean slate too.

Oh, I love that feeling, too... I'm not quite there yet... The undecorated tree still stands in the living room, waiting to be taken to the basement in sections. And I'm slowly getting over my cold, so things are on the upswing finally!... Donna @ An Enchanted Cottage
