The (Sometimes) Serendipitous Meme...

Sometimes Serendipitous Girl made a meme.

SSG is trapped in snowy (and icy) Portland and is apparently losing her mind and making up memes.

SSG's meme wish- is my command.

It is simple. Take a photo of the following:

Something you can see from your window.

This is what I am watching this morning as I put this together. I put some seed out on the roof to our cellar. The blue jays are very happy.

Something from your kitchen.

Obviously I could not pick just one thing. It's Christmas baking time and it is all made possible by that lovely appliance above. I can't imagine going back to the stone ages when I actually stirred my chocolate chip cookie batter by hand. Shiver.

A book from your bookshelf.

If the mixer is the muscle behind the cookie operation- this book is the brains. I have been making their chocolate chip cookie recipe for so long when you open to page 69 you can find sprinkles of flour and brown sugar from Christmases long, long ago.

Something from your closet.

I am a closet cowgirl. Well, not really. But these are literally sitting right outside my closet waiting to be put away- because I wear them all the time. I bought them at a thrift store in Colorado for $10- they are $500 boots. I had forgotten about them but we were recently reunited. They are so comfy.

Something you love just because.

Ladies (and gentlemen) this is my engagement and wedding ring that I adore so much. In putting this meme together I realized BellaFella had some pictures of it on the computer. It's a ruby. Isn't it wonderful? Looking down on it makes me smile all the time. Why a ruby? For several reasons- it represents the 7th month of July when we were engaged and married. Seven is also our special number. Some folks have a song- we have a number. And I wanted something different. This is my second marriage and I was blessed to have had a diamond before. I wanted to look down and see and know that this was different. It was found at this website- http://www.faycullen.com/. I warn you if you are into antique or vintage jewelry!

Well, SSG, this has been fun. I am now off to get ready. We are headed over the river and through the woods to BellaFella's family to celebrate Christmas. Be back soon!

I love everything!!! Look at that fat little bird...I just want to love him and squeeze him, and call him my own!

Adore the Milk Glass Christmas bowl and all the other kitchen decor...you have such a knack for decorating. I must admit though...I am still in the dark ages. I have a hand mixer but I still do it the old fashioned way...everything is done by hand.

Ah...yeah...when can I pick up my baked goods? LOL

I love the ring as well. I think rubies are the most stunning gems available.

Have a great time with the fam and be safe crossing the river and going through the woods.

Love,

Marlene

Yay! THANK YOU for playing ... I'm so sorry to do such things, but when you're snowed in for 18 years, a girl's got to use any resource at her disposal! I wonder if I can get cute neighbor to write a post next ... I know you guys would like to hear from him! Hope you have a great time with Bella Fella's family!

Is that over-fed blue jay still able to go airborn??? Bwahahahaha!

You know, I have a July birthday, and I LOVE rubies:) What a stunning ring. (Our number is 22...)

Have fun at BellaFella's family gathering. I'm sure you will have plenty to share when you return!

WOW! You are simply the sweetest thing ever! I bet if I squeeze you, just a little, marsh-mellows pop out of you ears! I just love you house (can you lust a house?)....Whatever the case, I was filled with warmth just looking at your photos, then came the ring! Dang Gyrl, now THATS HOT! Very, very nice! Next time your man walks by, give him a little goose in the backside and tell him he's got taste!!!
