Hints of Christmas...

I am putting the finishing touches on my Christmas decorations this week. When Dad and little brother were here for Thanksgiving I did not let them leave until they had brought down the decorations from the attic. BellaFella was still taking it easy.

Of course there were comments (you have enough stuff to open a Walmart comes to mind) as I handed down each box to their makeshift assembly line into my living room. In my defense- it's really not that much. But I guess it did get annoying when I said careful and fragile umpteen times.

Be careful, this one is really, really fragile.

Okay, I admit it. I had no idea what was in these boxes. Sure, somewhere my 50 or so nutcrackers had been hibernating. In another there would be ornaments and garland and a little of this and that. Then there would be the Christmas themed gifts from the previous year that I had not used and packed away until now. Surprise, surprise.

I think I sort of forget it all each year. Isn't that were some of the magic comes from. I peaked inside each box early Friday morning and there were hints of all my Christmas glory. And by Friday night the stockings were hung by the chimney with care and I decked the halls...and the kitchen, and the living room, and the guest room...and you get the point.

Tonight we wrap up and head out to find the perfect tree or perfect tree lot I should say. It is the finishing touch.

I have so much that I want to show you that I do not know where to start. I also must confess that I find this sort of stuff difficult to photograph and need some natural light. I feel a photo shoot coming up this weekend. So for now, here is a hint of the BellaDella Christmas...

Have you opened your Christmas boxes and been greeted by surprises and forgotten treasures? Oh come on, admit it. Merry Christmas!

Yes, I have... but not this year.. the boxes are still in the basement as Hubby awaits my command to please bring it upstairs. It's so much work to decorate and I keep putting it off. sighs

i feel the same way when i open up the rubbermaid tubs. i forget about the stuff that i purchase after chistmas at discount and just put in the tubs without displaying. your tree tucked in the corner looks gorgeous. it is hard to photograph these things. looks cute.

Fun! That's my project this weekend, I love it--putting the Christmas music on, sipping hot cocoa with homemade marshmallows--most wonderful time of the year indeed! I usually try to buy myself one new thing each year so that's where the surprise comes in--I have yet to find something that "calls" to me yet. Well except everything in the Williams Sonoma catalog but I don't know that that's different than any other time of year.

Oh sooo beautiful!!! I am not decorating as much this year since we are going to Disney on the 26th and taking the tree down Christmas night. (Don't want the cats to tear it down for me while we are gone~lol!) But OH do I have BIG dreams for next year already and warned hubby to be prepared for a big decorating extravaganza!!!

Looking forward to seeing more of yours!!!

Hugs!

We'll be getting into it this weekend. It's hard to start, but gets easier as all those memories start coming back.

I just love your room with all of the Christmas splendor! The tree is so pretty and adds such a coziness to your sweet room.

Like you, I love going through the boxes that are stored away. It is kind of like a little surprise each year.

hugs,
Becky

I started a new tradition last year.
When I packed up the Christmas stuff last year I wrote a letter to myself to find when I got it all out this year.
It was a fun surprise to find the letter along with all of my decorations.
I love Christmas and all the decorations, anticipation, corny music and toy assembly that goes with it.

Yes! I dragged out all our stuff last night. It really isn't much - it all fits in a computer box with a bag of lights left over. But it was fun pulling it all out. It has actually been two years since I got in the box since last year I bought a theme tree and didn't decorate other than that. So now we have a happy looking tree and some pretty spots all around the front room. I LOVE the twinkling glow of the lights.

You are NOT gonna believe this but I have that SAME vintage tablecloth. I picked it up second hand. I was thinking about making pillows out of it. I love all your old time vintage decorations. cherry
