Everything's rosy...

Rosy cheeks and rose bushes.

I love this time of year for many reasons. It is a time of change and mix of temperatures and weather and an overall jumble of Mother Nature. I came home last week to find my rose bush blooming...again. This bush is always surprising me with a blush of color against the old white boards. It is such a beautiful image juxtaposed with newly fallen leaves and piles of acorns. I hope you can see the fall shadows and cool air in these photographs.

It is hard to believe that these blooms were bitten Sunday evening by our first frost. A hard frost. I awoke to find a bright moon and the whitewash of ice all over the grass and fields. I could see my breath as I took a deep, happy sigh. Cold. Finally cold. Sigh. Yes, I am one of those. I welcome the cold temperatures. I am most happy for rosy cheeks and thankful for the blooms.

What makes you happy this time of year? Have you had your first frost yet?

We are expecting our first frosty night tomorrow night!!! I am really excited. Soup in the crock pot kinda night.

Your roses are gorgeous and I love how they are both pink and white. What a great last hurrah before Virginia goes to bed for the colder months.

We shall plan a learning day very soon. My machine travels and I am sure you will be a great student. WE can turn the old store into a great quilt shop!!! I will work weekends. LOL

Love you,

Marlene

That is a great picture. I usually love Fall/Autumn because of the cooler temps but this year has been the exception. Here we are, close to the end of the month and today's forecast until Thursday calls for high 90s to 100 degrees for my area. grr. At least the nights cool down and the morning are crispy (to a warm blood like me). Mornings are usually in the mid 60s.
Have a good one and I'm so glad you've gotten your cold. I'm still waiting for mine...and some rain too!

I love the seasons---You know when people ask what your favorite one is---that is such a hard question to answer....I find there are so many reasons to love them all. I traveled into the moutains a couple weeks ago and it is just breathtaking! Everything constantly changing and looking so lovely! I hope you are loving it too. What a beautiful place to live. I love your photos.

My grandmother had roses like those. They are one of my favorite memories of her:)

I'm tolerating Fall. I was thrilled with the 85 degree temps last week. This week,I have had to pull out sweaters and jackets. What a pain!!! Oh, well, it's coming..no matter how much I want it to stay warm. I'll just have to hunker down and wait for Spring!!! At least I have the holidays to look forward to....now THAT'S something I enjoy!

Beautiful roses!!! We have had frost a few times and should be getting a real hard one tonight. I am looking forward to the weekend slowing down because of the lack of yard work!

Have a wonderful day!!!

In Denver we've already had some frost. Since I haven't planted anything at our new nest it's not really affecting me yet, but I kinda miss summer.

Tonight we might get snow. :(

One of my favorite things about fall is the first time I smell the smoke from a wood burning fireplace... love it.

Love the roses! Beautiful!

Frost> No translate-y to this west coaster! I COULD see my breath as I walked to work this morning. The leaves are gorgeous against a bright blue sky and I think that is my favorite fall thing! And warm mulled cider ... and pumpkins on porches.
