What's in a name?

Sometimes I come home from the thrift store with treasures that leave me guessing. These are things that I probably should leave behind for someone else but they always hop into my cart. This merry crowd was found in a linen bin at my favorite store a few weeks ago. Now, I just need to know who and what they are. I find their names so interesting.

Please meet the Oyster Seller, An extremely rubicund gentleman, Margaret, The little brown jug, The unfrocked parson, and Mrs. Joby. The cloth is the weight of handkerchief cloth and they are about 7 or 8 inches long- 4 or 5 inches wide. I am guessing too small for napkins but perhaps bar related.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that one of you wonderful ladies out there can tell me what these are, perhaps the significance of these names?

Have a wonderful Friday and weekend! Love to you all.

I have no idea. This is a real mystery, but someone will know.

Hi there! Well, I think they are vintage bar towels or maybe even guest towels. They are really cute and would even make a nice Christmas gift. You can do an advance search on eBay or a general search to see if you can find something similar to these.

I don't know what they are, but their names sound like an Amish version of The Canterbury Tales!

What a great thrift store find :)

Hi Kim
You find some wonderfully interesting things when you are out thrifting! They are very unique and I like them. I think they could be bar towels too.
