Weekend Roundup...

Friday...
It started raining on my way home from work. It would not stop until Saturday afternoon. I have a ritual of "running errands" after work on Fridays. I put this in quotes because it is more like- I go shopping after work on Fridays. I don't know, but for some reason it is hard for me to unwind after a long week. I need this little exercise before I go home and crash. And on Fridays- I crash.

Saturday...
I stayed in. It rained and rained and the wind blew and blew. It wasn't too bad but there is one thing you can always count on...if you have done yard work and recently picked up all the limbs in your yard...a storm is going to blow in and undo all that work. I think it is somewhere in the top 10 of the Murphy's Law list. It's somewhere near car washing=rain. I thought about cleaning it up but someone has to tell me more about what Ike is going to do before that happens. I don't think anyone likes Ike.

And more comfort food it was on Saturday. My first official soup making of the Fall. It's another family recipe that I promise to share with you soon. You all will be making this one all Fall and Winter and it's so easy.

Here are pictures from Hanna. We have a little drainage ditch thingy that runs down our property into a natural spring. Here is what it looked like Saturday morning. I felt like one of those silly reporters that stand out in the middle of the storm. I didn't have to hold onto anything but it was raining sideways.

Sunday...
From now until February, Sunday means one thing in this house...football! And not just any football. Atlanta Falcons football. And we won. #1 Falcons Fan Hubby and I screamed and hollered and ate pizza and laid around all day. Perfection! Here we are at opening day last year in Minnesota. We go to at least one game each year. We are headed down to Atlanta for a game sometime in November or December. Can't wait.

Well, that is my exciting weekend roundup. I wonder what this week will bring. I hope it brings me to the weekend really fast!

Hey! Found your blog through Mabel's House. I definitely agree that staying in with your man, watching football, and eating pizza is a great day! It's nice to have those weekends.

Yep it always happens when you clean up the yard and then the dang rain storms come again...I love my Bulldogs more than the Falcons. I guess I got a sour feel after what happen with Vic...pretty much a lot of folks in GA were upset about this mess. Oh well no one is perfect and we all make mistakes...but it is hard for me to understand this such act since I love animals. Oh well another story.

You asked about Dollywood I think in one of my post. Yeah I loved it...great shows and lots of great old stuff to see. It is not your ordinary theme park...more nostaliga to me with rides for all. I love it! Let me know if you go.

Glad you had a safe and lazy weekend. I LOVE staying in on rainy days. We didn't get as much rain or wind, evidently b/c our yard didn't flood like it has and we didn't have any limbs blow down. But we did stay home from the river and just "chill". It was so nice to be able to do that! By the way, I went to Goodwill today and found the SAME turkey platter as you posted about last week! I paid $3.25...how 'bout you?!

How brave of you to go out and take photos. We are finally getting some rain here. My yard is looking a little greener. Now hubby has to mow it. lol; Glad you did not get a lot of the the bad Hanna weather. Your soup is making me hungery for some. Can't wait to see what kind it is and how to make it. Have a great week.
Hugs;
Alaura
