On Target...

I just arrived home from date night. This means Mexican food, a movie- tonight Get Smart, and Target! Yes, I am blessed to have a husband who loves Target as much as I do. When we walk in the door I go straight, he goes right and then usually one cell call later we meet in the middle somewhere. Quality time.

Since it is late and 5:30am will be here before I know it, I am going to start a little tour of our kitchen. I took some pictures over the weekend. It's a big space- complete with fruit wallpaper border that I am tolerating and will NEVER admit might be growing on me a bit. We also have the old metal cabinets. Those are never going anywhere. No matter what we do to rehab this old kitchen those will remain. They are the essence of my old country kitchen.

The tour begins....

Yes, that would be my washing machine next to the stove. Why? Because that's where they go, right? And where is the dryer? Well, that is on the back porch of course. Kitchen and laundry room design not exactly on target!

I promise more photos tomorrow. I hope everyone has had a great day. Goodnight and sweet dreams. 'Til tomorrow my friends...

I <3 Target AND my East coast ladies! That's too funny you're right down the road from BHE! You two can't go and have too much fun without your favorite Portlander : ) I love your sweet kitchen--you've got such a great eye and ability to put things together!

I Spy.....my grandmother's buffet, cabinets AND colander (which I now own...the one with the long legs and the wooden thingy), the crock used to hold kitchen utensils (LOVE mine), and lots of other really cool things that you can tell me about when SSG & I come over to visit:)

You know, I just got a flashback with a serendiptous moment. Your kitchen is so similar to my G'ma Katy's. She had a little farmhouse with an old stove and very similar cabinets. Your home is fabulous!!!!

The second sentence of this post cracked me up so much that I just had to comment! Last week I chose a Mexican restaurant for our anniversary dinner out, and the very next day I drove to my hometown and met up with my two best friends to go out to Olive Garden and to Target - where I purchased one item -the Get Smart TV series Season 1 on DVD! I never get to go to Olive Garden or Target (love both), and don't see my friends nearly as often as we would like, and Target had that DVD for cheaper than ANYPLACE else AND it was the last one on the shelf! It was funny to me - from your post, it sounds like we may like a lot of the same things! I also see lots of neat stuff in your house that I love!

Your kitchen is so charming. My eyes zeroed in on anything red.

What was life before Target? I don't remember ;-)

I love your country kitchen and I love those metal cabinets. My granny had those in her kitchen in Hapeville, GA. Brings back good memories. xo, suzy
