Tag- I'm IT...

Kim at Kim's Treasures has tagged me. This is my first and when you guys see how long-winded I am- could be my last! Thank you so much, Kim. Actually she is Kim V. just like me. I saw her comment on Daisy Cottage yesterday and thought I was losing my mind. And I wasn't sure what I was going to write about today. I will start with a picture- this is me.

Where have you traveled?
I've been all over the states- probably visited about half the continental U.S. At the age of 20 I moved to Germany and lived there for 3 years. While there I visited Holland, Switzerland, Austria, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Greece- including Athens, Ios and Santorini. This means that future posts will have to include pictures from my travels and previous life. After my amazing time in Germany I moved with my ex-husband to Colorado Springs, Colorado where we lived until 2002. I graduated from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. But I digress...

Where would you like to live?
I love it here in central Virginia and absolutely adore my home. I would go back to Germany in a heartbeat. I actually get homesick for my town there several times a week. Greece, too. I also always tell folks that I would love to have a loft in the city where I work (downtown Richmond) and my house here in the country. Oh, and I can't forget the beach house I would love to have.

What is your decorating style?
I have no idea how to answer this question. My husband would tell you that it involves lots of plates hanging on the wall which he does not comprehend at all. I guess this means more inside pictures in future posts. I love anything old and anything vintage and anything that has a story. My house is real mix- country, vintage, cottagy- very eclectic. Also, very clean and organized. But again, I digress...

How many times have you been married?
I have been married twice. I am proud to say that I am a former Army wife. I married when I was 19, a month shy of 20. He was my high school sweetheart. For many, many reasons we separated in 2002. I met my adorable husband Scott in 2003 and we have been married for just over a year now- if you scroll down to some old posts you will see we just celebrated our 1st anniversary. Here are the sort of still newly-weds....

Favorite color?
red- the barn kind, greens, turquoise, yellow, wait- if I don't stop I might list them all

What is your proudest accomplishment?
I don't know how to answer this, so here are a few things in no particular order-
1- Buying my first home
2- My husband
3- The relationship I have with my mom, dad and little brother (he's 28, but still little to me)
4- Making straight A's at UCCS while in the midst of the terrible break-up of my first marriage. I still don't know how I pulled that off.

What would we be absolutely shocked to learn about you?
I can't swim. Me + water = drowning. And before you even entertain the notion of leaving a comment that you could teach me- I will tell you that many brave souls have tried. Apparently successful swimming involves getting your face wet and even submerging it. And nope, can't float either, can't tread, can't even doggie paddle. I sink. I love the water- I just prefer mine shallow!

And now I will take my turn and tag these ladies- (and like Kim said, if you've been tagged before and don't want to do this again...no problem!)....

Thanks for the tag... you're too sweet! We have so much in common! I love your color choices (red and turquoise, yum) and I have swimming issues myself. I finally learned how, but CANNOT jump in the water without holding my nose like a two year old. I will NOT go under the water without holding my nose, so I've never learned how to swim underwater or dive. If someone was drowning, I couldnt swim down and save them and hold my nose. So sad. But I can dogpaddle like the wind. :)
